Indescribable

Indescribable

Indescribable is defined as too unusual or extreme to be adequately described. That is exactly what God offers us through the gift of His Son & the promise of eternal life. Can you describe, quantify, explain, theorize, or rationalize that through human understanding...simply put...nope!

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” - 2 Corinthians 9:15

Thankfully for us God is not bound by the limitations of human understanding. We may find & describe His gift as indescribable, but the offer stands, and He is calling. In the popular song “Indescribable” by songwriters Laura Story & Jesse Reeves, Chris Tomlin sings...

Indescribable, uncontainable,

You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.

You are amazing God

All powerful, untameable,

Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim

You are amazing God

Now think on this...why would we recognize God as Indescribable, Uncontainable, All Powerful, Untameable, not bound by Human Logic...and then use human logic to accept His gift...Huh??? But, that’s exactly what so many in our culture today try to do...it’s easy, loving, makes sense, popular, “all inclusive”, sounds good, and of course everyone’s favorite, it’s non-judgemental.

Let me urge you, DO NOT fall to your knees & humbly proclaim “God is amazing”, if you’re not willing to READ, FOLLOW, & OBEY what He reveals to you through HIS WORD!

Don’t hear me wrong, belief is great, but even Demons believe (James 2:19). Faith without obedience, isn’t faith, it is self-deception. The faith that saves is the faith that obeys(Matt. 7:21-28). Yes, we are imperfect, but, to the best of our ability, we need to strive to pattern our lives after the word of God.

Let me echo & highlight Dan’s words from last Sunday, “Don’t believe everything you think, feel, or have been told. Only believe what you read in God’s word.” When you read it, you will find it to be Indescribable, but you can trust in His holy words long preserved. #StudyTheWord
