Is your faith being tested?

Count your many blessing, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done. Great song and even greater statement.

Blessings come in all shapes and sizes, many slip through unnoticed while others are so common place that they blend in to this thing we call life. When it comes to blessings a point we sometimes forget, is that they don’t always have to pleasant or positive. We can be blessed through trials & the testing of our faith. James reminds us of that in the first chapter...

2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
— James 1

He then mentions the importance of asking God for wisdom, and drops some pretty insightful wisdom just a few verses later.

19…”everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger”
— James 1

James then continues to stress the importance of patiently walking the walk, and being careful not to get caught up in just talking the talk.

So, how is your faith being tested? Are you considering it joy? Are you quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, allowing the testing of your faith to produce endurance? Trials in your life can be blessings if we continue to love God and allow Him to shape & mold us into what we need to be. Which is a good reminder...He’s still working on me, to make me what I ought to be.
