Kingdom of God in 2019

2019 is here, what are you going to do with it? I might submit we start by asking not what the church can do for us, but what we can do for the Lord’s church, the Lord’s body, of which we are a part...a valued part.

It starts by understanding our value...

“For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?”

We all have different roles to play based on our gifts. If we don’t have confidence & use them for the Kingdom we limit what God can do through us. Be grateful for what you have and use it to the best of your ability to praise & serve God.

It continues by understanding the value of those around us...

“Now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. If they were all one member, where would the body be? But now there are many members, but one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”
— 1 Cor. 12:18-21

God designed His body just as He desired to work together as family, loving one another, and accomplishing together through Him what we never could by ourselves. We need each other to uplift, rejoice, comfort, evangelize, pray, & function as the Lord’s body. We don’t need to be jealous, dismissive, hurtful, prideful, isolated or anything that tears us apart.

When it comes to Kingdom work we need to value & be grateful for each & every part. Value those around you & focus on serving Him in 2019. Let’s be amazed at what God can do through us if we focus on Him.
