What is your Passion?
We all might answer the question above in various ways? Hobbies, Clubs, Music, Sports, and of course with back to school on your brain those academic subjects you are all so passionate about like lunch, gym, & study hall.
All of those are nice to be passionate about, but they are fleeting, in fact, in view of eternity they are worthless. That’s not coming from me, but the world’s wisest man, Solomon.
Deeply consider what is not fleeting or worthless. Do you have a passion for Christ? Do you have a strong desire to live out God’s will for you in this world? As you ponder the question consider this perspective of what “Passion” is by Braden Thompson...
“Passion is a strong desire that can get you to do amazing things. Passion is an emotion to be acted upon. Without action, passion yields NO worthwhile results. Passion is the fuel in the fire of action. When you have passion for something, you love it even when it gets tough.”
In the song “All to Us” we sing, “Let the Glory of Your name be the passion of the Church”. Allow me to now highlight from the thought above “Passion is an emotion to be acted upon.” Yes, “All to Us” is a nice song, but don’t stop at singing it...Live God’s Glory, Breathe God’s Glory, be convicted to give God the Glory in all things...even when it gets tough. Let His Glory be your passion!
As you head back to school glorify God in everything that you do. “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men” - Colossians 3:23
Don’t leave God’s Glory at the church building, don’t leave it at home, & please don’t abandon the Glory of God when you’re with your “school friends”. Many of whom may not even know how desperately they need the Glory of God...and if you don’t share it with them, who will? Let the saving love of Christ be the measure of your life, and BELIEVE He is All to YOU!
