Who do you love?
Have you ever considered who you love and how you behave toward people indicates what you really believe about God!
Immature people talk about their beliefs, because talk is easy, talk is cheap. The mature person lives their faith, they “practice what they preach”. Most importantly they honor & show their love for God by following His word, even when it’s tough!
James addressed the specific issue of how we treat one another based on social status in James 2:1-13. Our society today is not much different from the issues they were having back then. Our society looks at others for the value they can bring to the table, for the benefit they can give us personally...the mentality...if I befriend you, or do something for you, what can you do for me?
That attitude is direct conflict with God’s word and the example we see in Jesus. There was nothing anyone could do for Jesus, yet He came to serve...to give us an example of pure religion (James 1:27).
God chose us...those who cannot earn, nor deserve the Salvation He offers. We are chosen children of His based on what Christ did on the cross, not because of anything we bring to the table. God promises the Kingdom to those who love Him (James 2:5), not to those who love this world and its riches.
Christian love means treating others the way God has treated me. So I ask the question from above, who do you love? When you look into the mirror of God’s word, what do you see? (James 1:23-25). We only believe as much of the Bible as we practice, so I ask again, who do you love? #GloryToGod #LoveOneAnother
